SmartCitiesNet

Focussing on energy relevant aspects the final project report ‘SmartCitiesNet’ provides an overview of current research topics related to “Smart Cities” as well as actors active in the field of Smart Cities. Furthermore, future research topics were defined and evaluated, and recommendations for political stakeholders elaborated.

Smart Cities research dimensions:

Structures:

  • Integrated spatial, urban, mobility and energy planning
  • Assessment, modelling and planning tools

Technologies:

  • Building, energy, transportation and communication technologies
  • Components developments and research on systems

Processes:

  • Stakeholder processes (politics, economy, decision-making), interfaces
  • Process analysis and optimisation, development of business models
