OIR is analysing the consequences of the Brexit

The UK’s withdrawal from the EU will impact the development of regions and cities in EU27. OIR was working on two projects dealing with the consequences of the Brexit. Bernd Schuh and Martyna Derszniak-Noirjean participated in the study “Assessing the impact of the UK’s withdrawal from the EU on regions and cities in EU27” which was led by t33 and commissioned by the Committee of Regions. Additionally, OIR moderated a workshop in Brussels focusing on the territoral effects of the Brexit on European regions. Experts and representatives of regional authorities discussed about systemic interlinkages between the withdrawal of the UK from the EU and the development of regions. Using the ESPON TIA Quick Check potentially affected regions were identified.
